Old School Mountain Bikes

Even though early mountain bikes aren’t necessarily up to mountain bike modern standards, they do make perfect commuters for San Francisco streets. Older mountain bikes bare similar qualities to a modern hybrid bicycle; stable riding geometry with an up-right posture, also ready for mounting racks and fenders. Being mountain bikes after all, they’re built tough enough to withstand the rigors of city riding. Both bikes below are examples of how only a few new parts can modernize and personalize an antiquated bike into a daily driver -that can still handle light trails.
